Always the Quiet Ones disbanded in early 2013 after a memorable five-year run featuring two EPs, notable press and radio coverage, and countless live shows, including with Fighting with Wire, Mojo Fury, Deaf Havana, & Cancer Bats. At its height, ATQO blended often violent, often ethereal melody with a complex, guitar-driven soundscape, brutal and melodic in equal measure.
The band received national airplay on Kerrang!, XFM, Q Radio, & others, and press in Metal Hammer, Kerrang! (‘Introducing’), Big Cheese, Rocksound, & more. Singles ‘Drought’ and ‘Freak Show’ featured on Playstation's ‘Rockzone’, and the band was ranked no. 12 on VidZone’s ‘Ones to Watch 2012’ list.

“We asked everyone we knew, ‘Hey, fancy stripping, painting yourself white, lying down and
letting us lie on top of you?’ Surprisingly, a lot of people said yes.” ’ (Kerrang! Introducing, p. 12)

“Three cheers for Liverpool’s Always the Quiet Ones whose stomping rock songs and quirky painted appearance make for a blistering beginning to the week.”
"Its heavy, melodic and catchy, its something that Biffy Clyro used to do in their earlier albums, except these guys do it better. They rip up the rule book and have created something special that wont leave the listener short-changed."
“The rock beasts cover a mature technical proficiency and an energetic riffage that reminds you of early Biffy Clyro. After getting critical acclaim for their EP ‘Freak Show’, they continue their ascent with this double-sided single and the quintet demonstrates that they are anything but quiet.”
“Through a typhoon of riffs, a sea of dramatics and an ocean of hard-rock musical depth, the band
unleash controlled mayhem on the trio of corking tracks to such a degree that you'll be playing them for a long time to come.”
“Only every once in a blue moon do a group rock so hard that they transcend the greasy pits and rise up into the big leagues - Always The Quiet Ones are one the cusp of leaving that pit.”
"Always The Quiet Ones have concocted a sound that has both a reassuring familiarity and an exciting sense of the unknown all wrapped up in one"
"Alternative rock has forever constantly been a changing art and ATQO have proved that change is
good. Bringing a darker side to rock they have created a unique sound which won’t go unnoticed"
"The instrumentation and various vocals blends throughout Freak Show depict how hard the band
have worked on it, their brilliant musical abilities and influences, and paints a painfully bright future for them"
"The vocals are powerful, the musicianship is flawless and the songs are well written and perfectly produced to show off this bands immense talent and marketable appeal. Definitely a band to keep your eye on."
